RNR Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary with 3 Special Announcements
Richmond Neighborhood Restoration (RNR) is excited to celebrate its ten-year anniversary with several special announcements!
RNR was established on December 22, 2014 by Shaun Dingwerth, James (J.P.) Hall, Dr. David Jetmore and Chad Stegner. In its infancy, the organization planned to purchase one historic house at a time in the Richmond community to restore into a livable home for a family.
These four, commonly referred to as the “Founding Fathers,” had a vision for RNR to grow and prosper well past their time with the organization. In honor of this vision and their dedication, the RNR Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Dingwerth, Jetmore and Stegner will join Hall as emeriti members of the Board.
“These four men have dedicated their time and talent to our organization in various ways, from leadership and governance, to hands-on support inside the projects. I can confidently say without their leadership, RNR would have struggled to become the thriving organization it is today,” said Roxie Deer, executive director of RNR.
Jetmore said, “I have greatly enjoyed watching the growth of RNR over the past decade. From house restoration to downtown revitalization, RNR has played a vital role in the city, and I am excited to continue with future projects as an emeritus trustee.”
To celebrate the anniversary and to honor the incredible work of these newly named emeritus trustees, RNR has established the Founding Fathers Fund. Donations to this fund will support the acquisition and carrying costs of RNR projects.
Shaun Dingwerth said, “As a founder of RNR, my personal goal was to create an organization that was proactive by restoring homes. No nonprofit was doing this in our community and I knew that even if we restored one home a year, in five years we would have restored five homes. If you don’t start, it won’t happen. So many talk about doing something but very few take action. I’m so proud of our board, our leadership and the organization as we are being proactive to make our community a livable place that people want to move to. The mission and values of our organization will help to revitalize a vibrant community that I love and a community I want to see grow.”
To kick off the ten-year anniversary, RNR is also announcing a special 10-year logo with a new slogan, “A decade of restoration, a lifetime of community.” Look for this logo on all upcoming marketing, thanks to a special grant from the Wayne County Foundation.
