Origin story:
In 2015 a group of four concerned community members invested in a 1906 four square home called the William Bockhoff House.
Their goal was simple: restore a historic home in Richmond, Indiana with hopes that it would inspire others to do the same. Shaun Dingwerth, JP Hall, Dave Jetmore, and Chad Stegner finished the house in 2016 and the support from the Richmond community overwhelmed the group. They quickly decided to form a non-profit to keep the work going on another project. In 2018, the organization hired an Executive Director as they finished their second home. The organization has now completed 5 historic homes in the heart of Downtown Richmond. In 2021, the organization began a pilot program in partnership with the City of Richmond, the Economic Growth Group, and the Redevelopment Commission. RNR would remodel second and third floors of retail businesses, funded by the Redevelopment Commission and EGG into market-rate apartments to later become part of the City's PLACE program. In 2023, Earlham College received $25 million for their Revitalize Richmond program. As part of that grant, RNR will be completing 3-5 additional downtown buildings. In 2024, RNR announced their move to restore residential properties in the National Historic Starr Neighborhood. |
"We regret much of what we've built; we regret much of what we've torn down. But we've never regretted preserving anything."
