Richmond Neighborhood Restoration (RNR) is excited to announce that J.P. Hall has been named an emeritus for the organization's Board of Trustees. Hall has served as a founding member of RNR since its inception in 2015. Board of Trustees’ President, David Jetmore says, “I have worked alongside J.P. over the last few years and there is nobody more deserving than him to be named our first emeritus member. His work and dedication to the historic homes in Richmond and eastern Indiana will continue to help our community reimagine the possibility of these spaces.”
Hall is an assistant professor of Historic Preservation at Ball State University in their Department of Architecture and Planning. Hall teaches courses about the history and theory of the preservation movement in addition to classes pertaining to economics, planning, law and advocacy within the field. Prior to joining the faculty at Ball State, he was the director of the eastern regional office for Indiana Landmarks, the largest statewide historic preservation organization in the country. Hall has a decade of experience within the historic preservation and downtown revitalization fields, and has been directly involved in numerous redevelopment projects and downtown revitalization initiatives. Hall has extensive experience working with communities, elected officials, property owners, and local organizations in repurposing historic resources, downtowns, and neighborhoods.
Hall says of the honor, “RNR has a special place in my heart, from the very first project to our current homes, and our future projects, this organization is important to me. I love the support we continue to receive from the community and I know that this role will allow me to advise and offer support to the future of the organization.”
At the same Board of Trustees meeting, RNR elected new officers to serve two year terms. Dave Jetmore will serve as Board President, Shaun Dingwerth as Vice President, Gail Connerley as Secretary and Jason Troutwine will continue to fill his role as treasurer for 2023.
